Running Gear Faves

While all you really need is a great pair of running shoes, here are a few of my favorites to make runs safer and more fun!

  1. The MOST important item is a really good pair of running shoes that fit well! Locally, I love Fleet Feet for finding the right option—they’ll analyze your run gait, check the arch and width of your feet and make sure you get the perfect fit.

  2. Likewise, a good pair of running socks really make a difference. Bombas have a cushiony feel and their buy one/give one business model means you’re giving back at the same time! 

  3. A Garmin watch, Apple Watch or something similar to monitor your distance, pace and your heart rate to maximize your training.

  4. A storage belt or arm band for your phone, etc.

  5. Water for long or hot runs. some prefer a belt with water bottle attached while others like a handheld water bottle like this one.

  6. A supportive sports bra—make sure you look for one labeled “high impact/high support” or specifically designed for running. This one from Lululemon or this one from Athleta are both good options.

  7. Fuel replenishers like Clif blocks or electrolytes.

  8. Epsom salts for recovery baths!
